The course gives an understanding of making of concept and developing the idea further to an artistic or media production, exhibition etc. The aim of the course is give the student an understanding of one’s own role and tasks in multidisciplinary process of working and developing one’s creative idea. The methods of concept design are user centred, co-design and community based methods as well as scenario based design and other methods of creative ideation that help to plan and start a creative production.

About the course

(3 cr) Responsible teacher: Marjo Mäenpää
Delivery and Working Methods: Lectures, discussions and group assignments about
the ideation and management of creative processes and productions, concept
design and presentation, and an introduction to project management basics. The
students will work in groups or individually on an assignment, drafting a
concept related to the topic of lectures. The assignment could also be related
to student’s own ongoing project.
Study materials will be given by the beginning of the course and in the course blog:
